A simple and easy-to-use Application named Private DNS Switcher (PDNSS) is designed to fully automate controls of the Private DNS functionality.
Using Shortcuts it can be controlled by Samsung's Automation "Modes and Routines". Or you can automate the usage by internal settings.
PDNSS has the functionality as follows:
Infos (if all the necessary permissions are granted):
- Current state and host
- Current WiFi SSID name and is it trusted or not
Shortcuts:
- Private DNS ON: enables Private DNS using Your Host
- Private DNS OFF: disables Private DNS
- Private DNS GOOGLE: enables Private DNS using Google's DNS
Automation:
- To disable on any VPN connected
- To disable if you fully Trust the currently connected WiFi SSID (verified by name)
- To enable on Cellular network
PDNSS required permissions:
- WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS: because of Private DNS are located there
- Location Permissions: because of Android limitation - only if granted PDNSS can rean WiFi SSID name
The PDNSS is going to be free forever, it never collects any PII data, it just does what it does.
P.S.: Sorry for so simple and ugly UI, I'm a backend developer so anything UI/UX-related task is the pain!
